Diagnosis
The only species currently recognised in this genus in Africa. Please refer to the genus diagnosis and introduction for more information.
Habitat description
Mostly standing and often temporary waters in open landscapes, open areas in forest or shaded by (gallery) forest. Often with emergent and aquatic vegetation, coarse detritus and a soft (like muddy) bottom. From 0 to 1800 m above sea level, but mostly below 1500.
