Neodythemis nyungwe Dijkstra & Vick, 2006
Nyungwe Junglewatcher

Type locality: Nyungwe Forest, Uganda

Diagnosis

Male is similar to N. munyaga by (a) labrum black; (b) interpleural stripe complete, enclosing three pale spots with metapleural stripe; (c) Fw discoidal field widens distally, 1 cell-row at base, 2-3 rows proximal to node, 4-11 cells wide on wing border; (d) black of genital lobe connected to black dorsum of S2; (e) subapical spot on S3 shifted ventrally, out of alignment with latero-basal streak; (f) ventral spots on S6-8 extend almost to lateral carinae or even onto dorsum. However, differs by (1) being restricted to the Nyungwe Forest, Rwanda; (2) larger size, Hw 30-31 mm; (3) vertex all black rather than yellow anteriorly; (4) pale markings on mesepimeron and metepimeron both broken into two well-separated spots; (5) antehumeral stripe connected dorsally to pale stripe along middorsal carina; (6) ventral pale spots on S3-8 extend across lateral carinae onto dorsum.
