Paragomphus alluaudi (Martin, 1915)

Type locality: Nairobi, Kenya

Diagnosis

Male is similar to P. viridor by (a) occiput usually green; (b) thorax largely greenish or yellowish with some dark bands - collar, postdorsal stripe and dorsal spot of fragmented antehumeral stripe (almost) fused to form Z; (c) anterior hamule hook-shaped; (d) apices of cerci broad and square-cut, with several coarse teeth; (e) epiproct does not reach midpoint of cerci, with distinct median knobs. However, differs by (1) ranging from Ethiopia to N Tanzania and Katanga; (2) thorax and often face with conrasting black markings, at least with complete broad humeral and metapleural stripes; (3) Pt dark brown to black, rather than pale to dark brown. Habitat description

Streams shaded by gallery forest. Often with a sandy bottom. From 700 to 1700 m above sea level.
